“We were competing, and we had referees and six linesmen in the IEBC. Out of the seven, only three said Ruto had won, and four said he did not win. They said the ball was offside.”
“The referees who said no have been exiled, as I speak now, two of them, Cherera and Masit are in America because they were looking for them, they wanted to kill them,” Raila told mourners in Emali, Makueni county.
The former premier complained that those who said no during the presidential election results were unceremoniously laid off.
“If the referees were divided, even though the Supreme Court said Chebukati was telling the truth but the four who said no were fired,” he said.
Address IEBC reconstitution question
He insisted the IEBC question must be addressed before the next polls, saying the servers must also be opened to ascertain the August 9 General Election winner.
“To ensure that the next election is free and fair, must do an investigation on what happened lately by opening servers so that we know the truth so that when we reconstitute the commission, we are sure they will do a good job,” Raila Odinga said.
Raila trivialised the Kenya Kwanza team appointed to dialogue with the Azimio la Umoja team, branding them a third-division negotiation team.
William Ruto dismisses Raila Odinga’s call to reinstate Cherera 4
While accepting to suspend anti-government demonstrations and have a dialogue with President William Ruto, Azimio’s leader made several demands.
He asked the government to reinstate former IEBC commissioners Cherera, Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi, and Masit.
Speaking on Tuesday, April 11, after a Parliamentary Group Meeting at State House, National Assembly Majority Kimani Ichung’wah leader termed the demand unconstitutional.
