NOSC Founder Passes Baton
Chineze Anyaene-Abonyi, who founded and chairs the Nigerian Film Official Selection Committee (NOSC), has resigned as Chairperson following the Oscars’ re-approval. This coincides with Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming 96th Academy Awards. Under Chineze’s leadership, the NOSC has transformed significantly, setting the standard for Nigerian filmmakers who want to participate in the Oscars’ Best International Feature Film (IFF) category. Originally focused on film submissions, the committee’s goal has expanded to promoting the best Nigerian film entries. This change demonstrates a commitment to advancing the Nigerian Film Industry collectively, rather than personal interests.
