Renowned Nigerian artist, Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, popularly known as Joeboy, has revealed why he talks to and nurture plants

The celebrated singer, famous for his hit track ‘Baby’, shared an intriguing glimpse into his special connection with the trees around him, especially within the comfort of his home.

In a candid conversation on the Zero Conditions podcast, Joeboy elaborated on his unique bond with nature. He said, “I find solace in nature’s embrace. My room houses four plant friends: Anthony, Themal, Raphael, and Vanessa.

These plants have become an integral part of his daily life, offering a soothing and calming presence. He believes it’s even better to share his feelings with them instead of normal people.

He further reveals the reasons behind this, saying; “I actually talk to them. I just tell them how I feel. I think it’s better to talk to plants sometimes than to talk to human beings.”

Speaking passionately about spirituality, the 26-year-old emphasized the importance of safeguarding oneself through either regular prayers to a higher power or by drawing strength from traditional practices.

Joeboy’s spiritual journey complements his affinity for the natural world, making it evident that he believes in finding harmony both within and around him.

Beyond his plant companions, Joeboy adorned his body with tattoos depicting trees, a clear testament to his profound love for the environment.

In this glimpse into Joeboy’s life, we find a harmonious blend of music, nature, and spirituality. His story encourages us to pause and appreciate the simple yet profound pleasures that come from nurturing a connection with the world around us.
