As part of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which are being held this week in Marrakech, the First Vice-President and Minister of Economy and Digital Transformation of Spain, Ms. Nadia Calviño, and the Minister of Economy and Finance of Morocco, Ms. Nadia Fettah, agreed to mobilize 11.6 million euros from the Debt Conversion Program to finance reconstruction and rehabilitation projects in the most vulnerable areas. affected by the earthquake which struck the Moroccan province of Al Haouz on September 8.

As part of the exemplary relations between Spain and Morocco and following the earthquake which affected the province of Al Haouz, the two countries confirm their desire to strengthen their cooperation based on sustainable and social development.

This initiative is part of the Spanish Government’s desire to express its solidarity with the population of the province of Al Haouz by mobilizing an envelope of 11.6 million euros within the framework of the Debt Conversion Program, in order to to contribute to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of disaster areas.
