Tourist nights in Marrakech recorded a significant increase of 61% compared to 2022 (and 27% for the month of October alone), reports the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy.
“The situation in Marrakech is experiencing unprecedented enthusiasm,” notes the ministry in an update following the broadcast on November 17 of an article on tourism in Marrakech, published in one of the national newspapers, suggesting a potential crisis. imminent in the destination.
And note that the main source markets for Marrakech experienced growth in October, notably France (+46%), the United Kingdom (+59%) and Spain (+56%), which together total alone, more than 45% of overnight stays in Marrakech.
This observed development also applies to the American market, whose overnight stays at the end of October recorded growth of 72% compared to 2022, specifies the ministry, stressing that although this market slowed down in October (+4% compared to 2022), it only represents 3% of total nights in Marrakech, which limits its impact on the destination.
